No. You open YAP and start chatting — no sign-up, no email, no phone number. Your browser generates an anonymous session identifier locally. If you want a persistent identity across sessions and platforms, you can create a YapID using a 12-word BIP39 passphrase. Optional. Free.
Yes — completely free for end users. Open a chat room, send messages, use DMs, create a YapID. All free. For platforms embedding the widget, integration is also free. We handle all infrastructure and moderation costs.
All messages are automatically deleted after 24 hours. There is no archive, no backup, no way to recover them. Messages are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and wiped on schedule.
We do not store your IP address. It is hashed with SHA-256 on arrival for spam prevention only and immediately discarded — never linked to any message or identity. We have no name, email, phone number, or wallet address for any user. Your UUID is generated locally in your browser.
